From Gävle to Ghent

After a very successful debut with Gävle Symfoniorkester last week, Ben returns to Ghent to continue working on the production of Monteverdi’s “Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria” at the Vlaamse Opera. This week he also works for the first time with Collegium Vocale Ghent, preparing them for their upcoming performances of Haydn’s “The Seasons” with the Royal Flemish Philharmonic.

Exciting new film JUAN will open in April

JUAN, a new film based on Mozart’s Don Giovanni, for which Ben was the conductor-on-set (with Concerto Copenhagen), will open in cinemas on April 7th, after already enjoying great success at various film festivals around the world. See the trailer here.

New engagements in Scandinavia and Spain announced

Following recent successful debuts with Aalborg Symfoniorkester and Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, and his second visit to Symfoniorkester Norrlandsoperan, Ben has been reinvited to all three orchestras in the 2011/2012 season.

Wigmore Hall with Bampton Classical Opera

Ben will be conducting Thomas Arne’s “Judgment of Paris”, as well as excerpts from “Alfred”, in the Wigmore Hall on Saturday February 12th, with soloists and the orchestra of Bampton Classical Opera.

Ben begins work on Giulio Cesare after four performances of Messiah

Ben has arrived in Paris to collaborate with Emmanuelle Haïm on a new production of Handel’s Giulio Cesare at the Paris Opera (Palais Garnier). This follows two very successful weeks conducting Messiah with Symfoniorkester Norrlandsoperan in Umeå and with Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, both of which have invited him to return in future seasons.
