Return to the Polish National Opera in Warsaw

After great success there in 2016, Benjamin returns to Warsaw to conduct Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito at the Polish National Opera. Benjamin, who is quickly becoming one of the most important young foreign conductors working in Poland - appearing frequently with Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra, Warsaw Chamber Opera and Wratislavia Cantans - leads this production (a co-production with La Monnaie, Brussels) with performances on March 11th, 13th, 15th & 18th.

Critical success in Edinburgh

Benjamin made his conducting debut in Edinburgh's Usher Hall with the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union's annual performance (the 131st) of Handel's "Messiah", which garnered a rave review in Scotland's Herald

Debut with Orchestra Rossini in Pesaro

Benjamin will make his debut with the Orchestra G.Rossini in Pesaro, conducting a concert with the acclaimed mezzo soprano Anna Bonitatibus as soloist. Organised by the Fondazione Rossini, the program explores the tradition of "La Gran Scena" and features music by Rossini, Generali and Mayr.

Return to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra

Following the enormous success in February 2016 of Benjamin’s debut with the Hong Kong Philharmonic - directing all six of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos and playing the fiendishly difficult solo harpsichord part of the fifth - he has been invited back this season to direct a special performance of Purcell’s timeless opera Dido & Aeneas.

Opening concert of the Orchestra Filharmonica di Torino’s season

At extremely short notice, Benjamin will jump in to conduct the opening concert of the Orchestra Filharmonica di Torino’s season. The programme features Poulenc’s glorious “Sinfonietta”, his enchanting “Babar the Elephant”, and the world premiere of François Narboni’s sequel to the same story, “Il viaggio di Babar”. The concert will take place at Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Torino.
